I had one too. I was given mine by my 5th grade teacher at the end of our science experiments with her, and she had the best personality ever. It was like that of a puppy. One day, I noticed she had a large bump on her belly, and it turned out to be a tumor. When I was at the vet, I was given the choice to either have it cut off but grow back again worse, or euthanize her. I chose the second option because I didn't want her to suffer.
It also happened on my birthday.
