I was born with holes in my ear drums. Holes. In my ear drums. They patched them with skin from my ass when I was like 6 years old, but the patches would frequently come off until I was like 10. Whenever I had no patches, I could inhale through my ears.
You heard that right. I could inhale, through my ears. And exhale. And blow air through them. As long as I plugged my nose. Therefore, you can allow for air to go through your ears and through to your nose.
BUT as long as it's been patched, then it never worked. Go ahead, try to suck through your ears, or push air through. Just don't work, right? That's because there's an ear drum blocking access between your ears and your nasal cavities. It just won't work, unless you had no ear drums or had a hole in them.
