That would mean you get banned for posting anything that has been in the thread, even if it was 100 pages ago. Sure, it'd make sense if it was like "don't post something that has been posted in the last 10 pages" or so but if people get banned for content that has been posted in the thread at all, everyone would be too scared to contribute.
