Yes I'm sure they could stop 2 planes that are hijacked by terrorists in an hour and everyone would totally immediately listen to a some random guy who somehow knows and says planes are going to crash into buildings

If you told anyone in advance of 9/11 people would think you were part of it or otherwise aware of the plans long in advance. It'd be a death sentence.
Better idea: evacuate the towers.
Pose as a maintenance worker, say there's a gas leak and the towers need to be evacuated due to some safety regulation. That way the buildings will be empty when the planes hit.
Of course, I suspect that will have long-term consequences. I'm sure the conspiracy nuts would go absolutely insane over it.
