I put a shitload of effort into my videos. I've spent hours at a time trying to make a specific thing happen or get a good enough result for a video.

Following that logic, Skate 3 actually belongs to whoever made whatever operating system was used to code and model skate 3. We will call it windows. Windows was made on computers. Computers were invented by some guy or multiple guys.

The logic that "content made with content creation tools does not belong to the person who made the content with said tools but rather the person who made the tools" is flawed.
Back to the paint analogy. Someone made the brush with wood and whatever hair is used to make the brush part of it. But who made the trees to make the paint brush out of? According to religion it belongs to god, according to other beliefs it was just there. Does that mean your painting belongs to god or doesn't belong to anyone at all?
And whether or not EA owns the rights to the content I made is completely irrelevant because first of all, it's Machinima that stole it, not EA, and secondly, the clip was from Grand Theft Auto 4, not Skate 3.

Also, for the record, it wasn't a compilation. It was just one of their normal videos, and then they showed a 9 second clip of my video. It's not the fact that they didn't get permission that bothers me; it's the fact that they didn't say it was mine or link to the original or my channel in an annotation or in the description, and then when I commented pointing that out, they removed my comment.

That's not what Machinima did is it tho? And to be honest, I couldn't give a fuck. I don't live in America where you can slap "fair use" on anything and it be okay, so you cannot monetize videos. So any and all copying of my videos would just make me feel proud that someone decided it was good enough to copy.

Machinima didn't pay key to use his video.
Key paid for his copy of skate 3 (or someone paid for it and gave it to him (unless he pirated it which is unlikely)), and made a video of it.
It's definitely not really the same thing at all.

That's pretty much what machinima did with key, though they put it up with a bunch of other videos they got from other people.
And the vast majority of people would be highly irate if their video was stolen and no credit was given.
