I had both. I also used to make roads out of VHS tapes
In all of the different classrooms I've had, my history class room is the only one that has a pencil sharpener that sharpens the pencil.
Not even the art teacher's works.

Because those wall mounted sharpeners are so shitty, and I couldn't be assed to bring my own, I hopped right on getting a mechanical pencil as soon as I heard of them.
Also, did anyone used to call mechanical pencils "lead" pencils? People at my elementary school called them that, probably because you put the lead in them (and yes, I know it's not really lead).
