My family used to feed homeless veterans on Christmas Eve (we did it like 3, maybe 4, times) and one Thanksgiving, we had 2 US marines come to our house and we got them nice clothes, a big ol Thanksgiving dinner and we bought a guitar hero game because one of them really wanted to play it. We don't know what happened to one of them, but we used to meet with the other one. He's overseas now though. I also spend the majority of my own free time doing volunteer work. Although it's a good idea to help others, dot go assing that everyone here just gives shit to other people just because they want it. If we could afford it, my family would probably be doing the same charity stuff. I think that I have done quite enough charity work, I come here so maybe my good work will pay off and I can get some reward or something. But if you want to donate to a cause, I'll be right there with you.
don't forget the $200 we donated on Kiva.com last Christmas.
Well of all the people I expected to make this joke I did not expect it to be you. :golfclap: I guess
:v:
Are you a lurker? Are you going to tell us what you think about us?
No I haven't even read this thread till the last edition
hearts
Well if enough people get behind the idea of the thread actually doing something like that I guess we can work something out. We would need to decide who to donate to and figure out a way of transferring the monies.
don't forget the $200 we donated on Kiva.com last Christmas.
Oh yeah. We have put a lot onto kiva.

Isn't Kiva a site where you earn money by investing
Well if enough people get behind the idea of the thread actually doing something like that I guess we can work something out. I can open a PayPal just for GGT to donate money to them. check out their website.
And I also feel bad because of this "vacation" I'm on, I'm missing around 50+ hours of volunteer stuff.
Isn't Kiva a site where you earn money by investing
no. [editline]03:01PM[/editline]
And I also feel bad because of this "vacation" I'm on, I'm missing around 50+ hours of volunteer stuff.
I'm doing volunteer work for the American Heart Association soon. maybe even teach some classes to elementary school kids about asthma (a friend of mine died of asthma back in high school during football practice 3 years ago). it's through my school but it's fun and good for the community.
im mad :sigh:
Anyway, I better get back to watching whatever is on Dave. The raffle is cancelled. I'd apologise but I don't see why I should.
So many walls of text. This is the highest quality I've seen this thread since V6
Isn't Kiva a site where you earn money by investing
No, not really. You donate money to someone that is trying to start a business in a third world country and when they start their business, after a while they will pay you back as much as they can. You can only receive the same amount of money that you donated, which you can donate to someone else or take out of kiva, or lose money. That's as far as I know though. I don't remember making money.
It's alright Bagger and it's not like it's your duty to do a raffle anyway.
If anyone want indie bundles pm me and you'll get em in 10 hours or so

I'd love to donate, I don't get much money at all though. Maybe in a year or so when I start working, but it doesn't exactly help now..

If you're going to donate to a charity, you should do it because you want to help others, not because you're trying to get something out of it. Anyways, there are a lot of charities out there to sift through if you guys really want to do this. I could possibly compile a list.
Th [editline]10:09PM[/editline] There by many honest charities tbh

You put money on and then loan it to people so they can start a business in a third world country. They can only pay you back how much you gave them. At least I don't remember making money on it. If anything, you letting them make money by starting a business.
There aren't many honest charities
If we do charity stuff, I'd like to donate to disabled police officers/firefighters, breast cancer stuff, homeless people... Actually anything would be fine with me asking as it's legitimate. But I would prefer one of those first three.
Maybe donate to the Make-A-Wish foundation. You know, terminally ill children to finally get their wish.
Donate to my charity please. I have trauma.
Yeah make a wish probably
Should i change my avatar
Should i change my avatar
Yes.
Maybe donate to the Make-A-Wish foundation. You know, terminally ill children to finally get their wish.
My mom used to do stuff for Make-A-Wish and I can't remember if she said that it's not honest or if the people that work for it are bad people.
