Haha, no they didn't (wasn't worth keeping since so much was removed) and I think they simply destroy the rest.
I'd probably use it as some sort of pet, taking it out on walks and such.

I'm glad to see you made it though. Congratulations on being so fucking brave, i'd shit myself if i had to undergo surgery, i'm honestly terrified of going under. Also, good on your Doctors for getting so much of the Tumor removed and not messing you up for good.
Edit: I feel really bad about not signing your card now, so let me tell you that i really, really hope you get better and go back to normal after this.
