Yeah. The insanity effect's pretty cool too. Although it doesn't hold even a matchstick to Eternal Darkness's insanity effects. Katrinonus did a Let's Play of that, quite awesome. Heard about her LP's from Helloween's LP's, and that's what truly informed me about Eternal Darkness. It's so awesome that it's leaked into my multiverse.
In the course of my story, the Ancients have quite a part to play, where even in death, their spirits still linger in reality. Chattur'gha himself appears in one part, where he's the demonic entity who's the driving force behind the Klansmen, convincing them to sacrifice the blood of innocent non-humans to fuel a powerful machine that would give Chattur'gha his physical form in our universe.
This happened, but Damien, who had joined a society fighting against the Klansmen, known as the Templars, a year or two before he became leader of the corporate mercenary team that features in the story, knew much about the Ancients. In his previous life in his old universe, as a game developer for Silicon Knights, he had known about the Ancients in a similar way to how I did, by watching an LP of the game as a teenager. He was part of the dev team for an Eternal Darkness sequel back then, designing new spells for the player characters to use as they fought against the new Ancients.
Anyway, long story short, he and the Templars discovered a 9-point spell circle that was used to restore Chattur'gha, and he had a brilliant plan. Since the universe was full of coincidence, his idea for a certain spell coincided with an existing spell in the universe that Eternal Darkness had taken place in. So he used the circle to create a 9-point Invocation spell (Antorbok + Santak) aligned with the power of Ulyaoth, to endow himself with Ulyaoth's energies and defeat Chattur'gha in a way identical to how Ulyaoth defeated Chattur'gha in the original Eternal Darkness. For an example, here's the fight cutscene from Eternal Darkness involving those two deities.

For my multiverse's version, envision a floating human surrounded by glowing blue energies in the place of Ulyaoth, and the space setting replaced with Paris, near the Eiffel Tower. And instead of the end shown here, envision the human absorbing Chattur'gha's very essence with a stream of glowing black energy. After Chattur'gha's corpse falls limp, the human's eyes glow orangey-red, he jumps onto the corpse of the fallen Ancient, and screams to the heavens above, "Oi Xel'lotath, I'M A' COMIN' FOR YOU NEXT, BITCH!"
Xel'lotath and Ulyaoth also have their parts to play in later parts of the multiverse story.
