I don't feel very safe anymore, what with these gun laws maybe, probably going to pass. If a civil war or a violent uprising would happen, I would not be surprised.
I also don't feel safe because of all the violence that's on the news. Murders, rapes, car accidents, deaths, pedophile warnings, kids being abducted, fires, etc. I asked some friends of mine from Europe what [I]they[/I] see on the evening news and they say just political stuff, weather and the very occasional violent thing I mentioned above. Car accidents, fires and deaths happen regardless of how safe or dangerous a place is. But they said they don't hear much about murders, pedophile-related actions, gun crimes, crimes in general, and so on.
Iceland doesn't have any gun-related homicides/year or murders per 100 000 people, but Sweden has 37 and 0,41. Compare that to the US with 9 146 and 2,97. It might just be paranoia getting to me, but those are very recent numbers, from last July. I'm aware that these are smaller countries, but they're safer. A war-torn country in Africa is safer than the US. Imagine that.

When steam won't let me uninstall a game without having connection to the net.
It was about 2am and I was getting ready to turn of the computer, my parents where already in bed so the modem was switched of. I remembered that I had sonic adventure DX installed, I didn't need it because I had it on the other laptop so I thought I might as well uninstall it. Big mistake apparently, when I tried to uninstall it, it launched steam which said something along the lines of "no login data is stored on this computer, connect to the network and try again"
Why do I need a connection to the net to uninstall something from my own computer?

This, this gets on my nerves way to much, even people in fast anime say stuff like "If you're proud to be an otaku, then you're doing something wrong" but yeah, I saw a pic on facebook of all places that summed this up pretty well, it was a comparison between weaboos and otaku. It went something along the lines of "Otaku - Like's anime but doesn't force you to watch it, rarely mentions it if at all becasue they know you aren't interested" and then "Weaboo - OMG I love bleach and naruto, hey watch this and look at this fanfiction I wrote, it's boys love, I ship..." You get the point.
My girlfriend is an otaku, she is all into it and loves animes/mangas. She writes fanfiction and even went to some conventions. I am not that happy about it because I dislike it, but I can't change it and it's a normal hobby like anything else. But when I look at it, I am a vivid gamer and do like anything that is related to it. So it's the same.
If a person does not push it in your face, I am fine with it.
