Nah, I got three tries, but as said in my post I fucked up my footing really bad and because I arrived pretty late I had to rush the warm up and only got one legitimate try before the actual competition. I tried correcting my paces, had a longer/shorter run up etc, but I wasted my three tries with a thing I should've done in the warm up.

Haha I was the only one out of my friends (they've competed for over 2 years) that was handling the pressure quite badly, but in the end the only thing that matters is experience, right?

I've seen experienced competitors crumble under pressure. Learn how to handle the mental side and maintain a good training programme and you should be fine.

Weird thing about this is I got only drafted into the long jump team only two weeks ago when we were training and my coach who was supervising us do the long jump came up to me said that I jump pretty good (18 feet in training conditions) and he'd like to see me at the competition and thus I only got like 3 days (had to miss a few days because of school) of serious training without the specialised track boots. In the end it was what sort of caused my demise: ill prepared, not being used to the track shoes and in general not practising my footing enough.

I like to use Final Fantasy VII as an example here, because honestly, it's the best one I can think of. When that game came out in 1997, the price tag was $50. The game provided an extremely in-depth story, memorable characters, amazing gameplay, and here's the kicker: it takes about 20 hours to SPEED RUN the game.
On my first try, it took me over 40 hours to beat it. Now, to the mainstream gaming audience of today, that's fucking insane. That's a LOT of effort put into one game, and that's the reason why it was remembered so fondly and why it strikes a chord with so many people. It's long as fuck, but it keeps you entertained the entire time. Not to mention that the full price admission fee is actually worth it.
The shit that the new Xbox and Playstation are pulling will make it impossible for you to lend games to friends. They will have to buy it for themselves. What if the game sucks? The price of being a gamer is only escalating more and more as times goes on and we're forced to put up with bullshit like this? I fucking HOPE there's another video game crash. I genuinely do. Maybe the companies supporting this horseshit will learn that people have their limits and they're only going to put up with so much of your bullshit.[/QUOTE]

It can be good, i have been dating my girlfriend online for around 6-7 months and we are both extremely happy. Its crazy how you can meet like minded people over the interwebs. Just make sure she is who she says she is through like video or pics and stuff.
