Yeah, the fight scenes are pretty cool, and so is the art direction. But to see it you have to go through all the angst and shit, so...

pfft, it's beautiful and so FULL of DEEP imagery that it doesnt surprise me to find that it has gone WAY OVER your head

I have a friend who thinks NGE is the best anime ever.
He's pretty angsty and shit.
There was NOTHING good about NGE.
The music was shit. The robots were kinda cool but they didn't do anything with them other than making them do ballet. The characters are all horribly bland and emo. The show goes nowhere. It's filled with shittons of "deep" shit that just exists because it seems deep and cool, not because it actually has any meaning to it. The art is good for it's time but not actually good.
So yeah.
I thought the music in NGE was the only good thing about the show. Especially in the Rebuild movies.
