I'm not sure I should have read that.
I need a hug.
Angel Beats! was utter shit. Horrible pacing with comedy and drama at seemingly random. And by "comedy" and "drama" I mean unfunny and lame. Also the monster-of-the-week plot was hollow and inconsistant with fanfic quality writing. Characters designs and concepts stolen from Haruhi and K-ON because they print money. The only positive recurring factor was TK. How can so many retarded fanboys eat this shit up?
This graph represents Angel Beat's overall quality imo, where X is the episode and Y is the quality. The graph is not drawn to scale.

Does that include the Bad End episode?
Does that include the Bad End episode?
No. The Bad End episode was utter shit. I wasn't too sure if I was laughing at how shitty it was, or how dumb the humor was.

I never said that you dolt.
I said I enjoyed the moments in the last few episodes very much, which made the sufferings through the earlier episodes to be somewhat worth it.

Clannad on the other hand...
Happy Birthday Nintendo-guy

Well to be fair, if you're laughing then it works (to an extent) as a comedy.
I don't understand why Angel beats is so disliked here while CLANNAD is loved. To confess, CLANNAD hasn't aged particularly well with me but we'll see whether the same will happen to Angel Beats.

Angel beats had great plot potentials. Plot wise, the reason why Clannad didn't fail is because they spanned the plot over 48+ episodes, giving it plenty of rooms to fill in details, and to develop it steadily. Angel Beats compressed a potentially great plot into a 13 ep series, and the writers doesn't even know how to compress a plot well. The end result was fragments of events shoved all over the place, making it seems like fragments of insensible bullshit. Clannad was also loved by most viewers was because of the amount of emotions deployed throughout the plot, and the development of the emotions had been given enough time to carve the feeling deeply inside of the viewer's mind, rather than trying to force emotion into the viewer's mind in one episode with little amount of development attempted.
Clannad was also a great success because it is original. Angel Beats stole elements from Haruhi and K-ON, because the writers thought stealing ideas from other "popular" anime will obviously make this one the best.

Calling CLANNAD original in the wake of Air and particularly Kanon is daring to say the least. I'll admit that Angel Beats' girl band element was laughably similar but I don't really hold it against the show. After Kyoani's treatment of Haruhi in the second season, I can't see it being sacred, especially when the animation studio certainly didn't think so.
I don't have a problem with Angel Beats' length. I never felt that the show wanted to be or should have focused on individual characters and progressed through them like visual novel adaptations are prone to. I still did manage to care enough for the characters to wish they got a happy ending. I'll also admit that Angel Beats is manipulative with emotions but so is CLANNAD.

My biggest problem with horobox is that I'm not getting my confirmation e-mail.
Other than that it looks rather neat, too bad I can't use it

I agree. If they had been given more episodes, or had just planned on doing a second season using the same characters, or had simply planned out the plotting of the story better, it would have been a much better show.
Angel Beats didn't really steal ideas from Haruhi as much as it did character design. It appeared it would at first with the theory that X created the world they are in, etc but that fell through.

Clannad is original in it's plot to a fair extent. I'd say it's a refinement of some concepts from Kanon (which used Air as a basis for it's otherworldly elements, sparse in Clannad), and it features a unique setting for where the majority of the action takes place (IMO).

You'll need to explain this one to me.
Also, I'd like to know what you thought was wrong with the plot for Angel Beats whether you felt it was contrived or if there were plot holes that bothered you.
I mean the pinnacle of the retardeness was the episode with the gay studient council president guy. They spend the whole fucking episode to show how evil he was, then suddenly after a shitty flashback with some forced drama he's like "so, I'm like one of you good guys LOL"

Hahaha I guess that's true. I suppose my half-assed defence is that Naoi is desperate for affection and clings to Otonashi and the group eventually emphasises with him since he is in the same circumstances as they're in.

Thanks man, so far my biggest complaint is the same as Nacho, but if you're trying that's more than enough. It looks pretty neat, loving the design
