I push carts (outside, obv) and I'm gonna hate the cold.
Hey guys, I live in Canada, and the Winters here are terribly cold. My question to you guys are:
What are some quality brands/jackets, and where to get em.
Some ways to stay cold in the winter
Other general tips to fend off the cold
I got an M40 Greatcoat, these things are awesome and they're designed to be worn over another coat if you want so oh yes you will be warm. Get an M36 or M37 if you have sensitive skin around your neck though, and M42s have extra high collars for wind breaking.
I like winter.
Oh well, it's time for my favorite winter movies when it finally comes along.

still haven't seen John Carpenter's "The Thing", though.
What do 2 horribly overrated movies have to do with winter?
OP is an imposter Canadian or some itty baby easterner.

It's so cold I'm about to lose my head
Maybe you can get a last harvest in, if you really try. Otherwise you'll likely end up eating rats from the granary. Rats and boot leather.
Try not to get turned into a Wight.
If you're canadian, the things you're asking should be engrained in your very being from the time you can understand speech.
Bitches don't know bout my Lake Effect Snow. (Michigan)
Man I can't wait till it gets down to 10F again (-12C)
I want to make a snowman.
We have superdry coats here in England, don't know about Canada though.
Fuck superdry.
Wisconsin's a bitch, but not a bad bitch. It's pretty cold come winter time, but there's usually only a couple crippling snowstorms. You just get used to it, eventually.
I feel bad for Canada.
I hate Winter. Rain everywhere, colds and fatigue follow. it's too cold to be comfortably clothed, but not cold enough to frolic in the snow.

I actually like the snow. It's great sitting inside with a warm cup of coffee, but the snow shoveling, man.
THE SNOW SHOVELING.
Man, normally I wouldn't call someone out on this: but you sound like you have no balls.
Find the biggest, thickest clothing you can find and layer it on. If it's quick and easy to put on, and it's rugged enough to survive some wear and tear, and keep you acceptably warm just chuck it on.
If you're gonna wear anything tight in cold weather wear thermals; but wear them underneath something thick and warm. What's the point in walking around looking like an absolute tool in the snow with a skin-tight t-shirt and skinny jeans on? It's completely impractical.
Don't you understand the importance of multiple light layers of clothing?
You go outside and do something (I.e snow shoveling) you start to shovel the snow and get sweaty due to exertion. you have two choices A. take off your thick heavy coat and expose yourself fully or B. leave it on and be completely soaked in sweat.
With several layers of thin clothing, you don't have this problem.
Here in Surrey we don't have to worry about snowstorms. Last year we had 2 serious snowfalls. We also average around 0C.

-12c is nothing
No snow where I am yet. In fact, I'm still wearing shorts and T-shirts. The coldest it's been is -5, which is unusual for late October.
so you walk around outside with a WWII german surplus trench coat on?

Notice how it has no sort of WWII insignias and looks like a regular wool jacket. The significance here is that its a jacket that's warm enough and tough enough for frontline soldiers but its still just a wool coat. Sure, you could wear modern military winter clothing if you have that interest, but then you actually stand out. Also, old surplus jackets can be found for very cheap prices if you look around.
Here in Surrey we don't have to worry about snowstorms..
Yeah, but you have to worry about being shot in a drive-by

Yes but that's not why I'm great at parties.
I actually get a lot of compliments from people who like it, both from people who know what it is and from people who don't.
