Don't they die after stinging you or is it the bees that do that? Justifiable execution dead or alive either way.
Wasps definitely don't die after having their stinger removed. In fact, it must feel kind of relieving for them. Maybe.

killed a wasp with a baseball cap once
it had been flying around for a while, so I picked up some random hat and swung at it, trying to swat it away
it was just in the right place for the solid part of the cap to graze it, with apparently enough force to kill it on impact

Reminds me of despraying a skunk in a way.
I literally ran face first into a wasp nest as a kid, and today I'm absolutely terrified of wasps/anything that makes buzzing sounds. They weren't very aggressive though and they only stung me once from that encounter (left ear), they were all over me, including inside of my clothes.
I hate wasps but this video was excruciating to watch. I know they don't have a nervous system like us but scientists are not sure if they can feel pain or not and if they can that insect must have been in unimaginable pain.
Also we should gather two of every animal and all people except wasps, put them into a shelter and nuke everything.
Not feeling pain doesn't mean zero sense of self-preservation.
It's more of a case of "hey dude I kinda need that limb, mind stopping? no? ok"

And then beat the crap out of every single one inside the bomb shelter.
another, more recent wasp story
flew in and started immediately harassing me, eventually took a break on the window and got fuckin smacked
it fell, and to my surprise landed in a spider web that I didn't even notice, a tiny spider instantly emerged to see what's going on
the wasp wasn't dead yet, but heavily injured
the spider was 20x smaller than the wasp, but very determined and hungry
battle raged on for about half an hour, the spider eventually getting his venom in and emerging victorious
was fun to watch
I was walking the dog the other day when my face nearly brushed against a spider hanging from a silk thread. It spooked me a little when I saw it, but it's ok, I didn't touch it and it didn't touch me, everything was fine-
Then, HOLY SHIT wasp divebombed the spider, scooped it up, landed on a branch and stung the poor arachnid a million times in the face before eating him, all whilst making the most demonic buzzing sounds I've ever heard.
Goddamn, nature, you scary.
I'm unsure about this, but in my area we've had tonnes of bees a few years ago and they all just disappeared. All we have are fucktonnes of wasps; do wasps kill of bee colonies intentionally?
no we need them! otherwise we will starve to death!!111!!1!!one!!
