they would have done it already
Good point.
Uh, why?
You can never have enough RAM.
It makes your system work more effeciently.
It's incredibly important for editing, be it Photo, Video or 3D.
You can never have enough RAM.
Wrong. VERY wrong.
It makes your system work more effeciently.
You won't notice ANY difference after having more than a specific amount of memory. You can't tell the difference between 4GB and 8GB of RAM on normal usages, not to mention that 12GB is excessively useless for most users.

You still don't need 12GB of it, for the kind of work most novices are doing.
Wrong. VERY wrong.
Oh do tell.
Thinking about watching Stand Alone Complex. What say you, Fast Anime?
I say yes, I have good memories of it and the soundtrack is god tier.
nay
Oh do tell.
I just explained it
Unless you are a professional who constantly runs multiple hosting applications on one box, works with complex 3D rendering projects with AutoCAD with massive amount of polygons, or is a mathmetian that work with large series of numbers and calculations, you simply cannot use up THAT much RAM, or anywhere near it. Plus, you won't see any improvement over speed AT ALL for most PC users. More RAM != faster your system runs. It would be a waste of money, and "future-proofing" is not a very good excuse either, because by the time when 12GB of RAM is considered mainstream, new technologies for DRAM would have been out to replace DDR3.
walls of text the anime
Give it a shot. If you don't like it, there is no stopping you from dropping it.

There is NO drawback to having lots of RAM.
Other tha the fact that you are wasting money, no there isn't. I never said there are any.
