It is as true as it is wrong.
I always help other people as much as I can and care a lot about them, however, I am also really selfish and do prioritize myself over others, but it is also completely dependent on the situation, if it gets the other person in deep shit and me in high spirits, then no, but if it won't cause much of a problem for the other person but get me a great deal, then obviously yes.
