Secondly, how does "parental control" operate from another computer? It's probably just the router, and that should be pretty straight-forward to bypass.

I personally watched the Touhou popularity boom (and even contributed to it in my way) as it went from 4chan's /f/ section to YouTube to where it sits today. Sure, the exposure was nice in its own way. Doujin materials can be pretty cool, and it definitely brought new shmup fans into the franchise. Always a plus. However, the majority of the people brought in were people wondering what anime these characters came from. Now, it's exploded to a point where your average Touhou fan may have downloaded all the games but has maybe played each one twice ever. However, their doujin collections, figures, plushies, and cosplays all exist to somehow justify a fandom to which I question their loyalty. These people don't play Touhou games, and chances are they never will. No, I don't expect every Touhou fan to be the next Lunatic expert, but they can at least show that they give a damn about the series by purchasing and playing the games that allow the doujin materials to exist in the first place. Real fandom comes from supporting the creators and showing your love for the creation. Generally, Touhou followers do neither.
Those statistics prove it. As long as they get their music and characters, they're satisfied. The source material is irrelevant at this point, and that's what disheartens me the most. These people are not fans of the Touhou series. They're fans of cute anime girls and remixes of songs from a soundtrack they downloaded. It's quite sad knowing that when the Touhou series ends, no one will really miss it, because doujin material will be eternal. Long after ZUN stops making his games, doujin comics and remix albums will still be released, and people will forget that there was once some playable thing that went with it all. The true fans will mourn not because there will be no new music or characters or because there will be no new spell cards to dodge. They will mourn because of both, and the legacy will live on in danmakufu. Really, that's what Touhou is about: danmaku. And when only 17.46% of fans like Touhou because of that, I really wonder if they are "fans" at all. Maybe I just don't understand fandom. Then again, maybe they're the ones who don't.[/QUOTE]
