You lacked challenges.
Best way to keep motivated in osu is to choose a map that you can't do, and practise enough so you can. Not too hard of a map, but a map that you can pass in, let's say, 50 retries or so. When you can pass most maps, the challenge changes to being able to S the maps that were hard for you before.
No normal being chooses a map they can't pass in 50 fucking retries Orkel.

I may not be a normal being but it took me over 150+ retries to actually pass Hakurei jinja on the hardest difficulty, but even then it was with no fail.
