I do this with potions
When I get near the end I have at least 50 potions of like, fire resistance, ice resistance, electrical resistance, poison resistance, invisibility, poison-curing, extra speed, extra stamina, paralysis-curing, thicker facial hair, higher charisma, faster pooping, petrification-curing, boner size, intelligence, dexterity, dysentery resistance, leprosy-curing, teleportation, anti-teleportation, sex-changing, etc.
I always think "oh I'm sure I'll use that when I encounter a fire-based enemy" or "this will be useful for when I need to take a faster dump" but those situations come and I totally forget I have potions for them
