The space program was the best thing to happen to America. It united the nation. Most-All people ages 45+ Actually saw the Moon landing on TV, in school. The space program is to learn about our surroundings basically founded on the human principle of curiosity and wanted to know more. The program challenged science and produced some great technology that we now use today (GPS, and others)
