Reminds me of:
"Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars."
Well lets see, the moon is 384,403 km (238,857 miles) away, but hey, if we manage to miss that, well land among the stars. 1 Astronomical Unit (AU) is the distance from the earth to our sun, which is 149,598,000 km (92,955,887.6 miles), there are 63,239.6717 AUs in a lightyear. The closest star to us (besides the sun, of course) is Alpha Centauri, which is 4.37 light years. That roughly translates to 4.13425091 × 10^13 KM (2.56890442 × 10^13 miles). Now, lets say as youre "shooting for the stars", you're going about the same speed as the Voyager space shuttle, which clocked in at roughly 18,000 mph (28,968 km/h), it would take you roughly 7.00687805 × 10^16 (70,068,780,500,000,000) hours to get there.
And once you reach that beautiful star Alpha Centauri, you'll be burnt to nothingness by its 5800 kelvin (9,980F, 5,526C) temperature.
Boy, what a lovely quote!

And let's not forget the temperature of the surface of a star
you see, 1/3 = 0,333...
when you multiply 1/3 by 3, you get 3/3 which equals 1
if you multiply 0,333... by 3 you get 0,999...
therefore 0,999... = 1
It's not exactly a debate, i don't think theres any discussion about 0,999... being 1 or not, it simply is, so it's pretty much over and you don't need to quote it for more pages, just let it go.
Or you could say 0.9999 = X
then times X by 10 to get 10X
and 10X = 9.99999
and if you take away 1x from 10x you get 9X
and 9x = 9
so 9x/9 = x
and x = 1?

That is semantics and doesn't count as proof.
The mathematical proof is tha t you can easily show the rule: Between two different real numbers you can find an endless amount of other real numbers.
That means if you can't find more numbers inbetween two numbers, those two are equal.
You can't find any more numbers between 0.99999999999... and 1.
End.
