well ZUN is taking a vacation, which means Touhou 13 will come out when Duke Nukem Forever or Half-Life 2 Episode 3 goes gold, but that doesn't mean there aren't other Touhou goodies out there
I'm pretty sure everyone played Virtual-On during their childhood arcade days or back then when Sega Saturn and Dreamcast were big. Well a bunch of Touhoufags developed a 3D Touhou Fighting Game based on the same formula of Virtual-On, strong projectile attacks, deadly quick melee strikes and an overpowered finisher special.

Touhou Koubuto (東方紅舞闘) Scarlet Battle Brawl is a 3D fighting game similar to Virtual-On. It's basically a retelling of Touhou 6: Embodiment of Scarlet Devil, only in fighting game form. EoSD characters make an appearance such as Reimu, Marisa, Cirno, Meiling, Patchouli, Sakuya and Remilia.
The game has a story mode which of course follow's EoSD's story, and also an arcade mode similar to traditional fighting games, also a VS mode for Player VS CPU or Player VS Player games. The story mode also has a surprise final boss battle (I won't spoil it because it would ensue more brick shitting when you reach it on your own). The boss is the cliche giant type of boss with every single ability all the fighters had and is pretty cheap and yet fun at the same time. It's pretty awesome and lol.
So okay, based on my own experience, it's like a lite-Virtual-On with Touhou, it's fast-paced but also a bit tactical and slow at the same time. Controls are simple, yet also a bit clunky, mostly because on how the game deals with animations and delays etc.
The story mode is decent with a pretty funny and great boss, and arcade and netplay is also pretty fun.
I'm only disappointed in the amount of characters, wish there was more and also story mode could had been more unique like having mini enemies to fight aside from the boss character itself.
Well time for a brief description on how each character fights. Although they're very similar to SWR.
Reimu - Basically balanced and crap, attacks are of decent speed, both ranged and melee attacks are equal on damage and speed, and health is pretty average as well. Has a deadly special if unleashed at the right time in a match.
Marisa - A big tank, attacks are slower than others but deals a buttload of whoop-ass. Her projectiles are very deadly, health is pretty high and has special that can send you to the stone age.
Cirno - Defensive character, her attacks are purposefully for counters and critical strikes, she's a hard target to hit, pretty fast, health is below average, her special is pretty decent as well and when unleashed, can give a critical choke point, if used right, she can roll all cool like flawlessly in any battle.
Meiling - Melee character, tons of strong and quick melee attacks, health is huge, projectiles are a bit lousy except for her rainbow bullets which are pretty decent for stunning the enemy a bit, and also a stun kick projectile which is pretty annoying. Her special is pretty strong but is pretty hard to execute right/to hit her target.
Patchouli - Projectile character, tons of powerful magic projectiles and stuff, health is kind of below average but her defense makes up for it, her special is very deadly. Her con is of course her weak and slow melee.
Sakuya - Ninja character, quick hard hitting projectiles and melee attacks, really deadly special and has a good defense. Her con is that her health is pretty low, so when she gets countered, she's pretty much close to getting KO'd.
Remilia - Overpowered character, has the defense and size of Cirno, has the deadly potential damage of Reimu's special and the accuracy of Sakuya's special (her special can knock you out in one hit if she hits you at least twice during the match), health is huge, melee is very deadly, projectiles are also very deadly. Can't think of a weakness lol
??? - Giant boss and has the ability of every character with tons of health and damage to her attacks, not gonna spoil unless really bothered lol

just download, and extract, if you want netplay, just install the netplay patch.
Run engine.exe to get to the start up menu of the game
anyways you gotta play story mode first with Reimu and Marisa then unlock Remilia's story (on which Remilia actually wins on EoSD and the red mist takes over and you cause havoc and shit, including burning out Cirno's Ice Paradise.) Then you unlock all the stages and characters for arcade, VS and netplay.
Also I'm not really sure if you can unlock Flandre or Rumia even though they're in the cover but I haven't tried playing a full game on arcade yet or beating story mode with no continues, maybe they're unlockable if I do that.

I had some expectations for this, seeing as how it got good reception on [a/ despite all the threads about pretentious shit like Angel Beats. But then I looked it up on MAL and saw Shoujo, and I have never watched shoujo anime because of character designs, sparkles and bubbles, etc. The episode starts okay, and it seems to stay at okay. Backgrounds could use more detail. Overall, there isn't anything glaringly bad about it, but there isn't anything great. Except for the fact that the male lead looks like a giant faggot.
6/10, this seems like a show that will get better over time or end up as a total pile of shit.
