Workplace Stories/Rants v. "But the customer is always right!!!"

I hated working at Taco Bell. I got called into work all the time because of lazy coworkers and the customers were just poor people and colleges students, most of whom left the dining area a mess and had a sense of elite entitlement.
Then I started working in the backroom of a Walmart. Funnest job I ever had til corporate started changing my job responsibilities, pushing me out more to sales floor. Fuck that. I hate customer service. Having to be polite and subservient to people you would otherwise never interact with sucks. I just wanna do my manual labor job in the back of the store where customers can't bother me.
Back a few years ago when I was working in a supermarket, I had to clean up a glass spill that a customer made and walked away from. While in the process of getting dozens of tiny shards of glass off of the shop floor, a customer came up to me and demanded that I look out in the stockroom for a product. I explained to her that I was in the middle of cleaning up a safety hazard, which I could not leave unattended (we don't trust customers to attend to these; they could just walk away), and asked for her to either be patient, or find another team member and get them to have a look. She then lost her temper and to get the situation under control, I ended up going out into the stockroom myself, while having to leave glass all over the place.
