true you can't win a war just with an airforce or navy, but if they can travel space long enough to build up huge armies, you can bet your ass they will have some kind of mac cannon (or whatever the fuck those really oversized weapons are called) and just shoot us from orbit till we cave in
the only thing we can really do is try to launch missiles from the ground up to them, but if they have shields then one little nuke isn't going to do much but maybe scratch the paint a little.
it'll be the same as holding a child at arms length and kicking him in.
this is why WE need to be the ones in space first with huge world ending weapons.

They never explain what Unobtainium is for. Perhaps it is a cure to cancer, or a fuel that is required to power the expansion to the stars? Perhaps it can be used to keep people in peak physical and mental condition for their entire lives? They never say, they just say that it is their reason for being there.
