Except we're going under a number of assumptions which includes the fact that portals exist, and that these portals follow the rules of the game series Portal. Portals don't have to have infinitesimally small amounts of mass between them. They could have an amount of mass that exists based upon the surface of which the portal is placed. Basically, you could be standing in the wall you've created a portal on. The game shows that you can stand in portals. The comic goes off nothing.
