The gamecube is the Nokia 3310 of consoles, that thing's damn near indestructible. A friend of mine has 3 dogs, and they use it as a chewing toy. In 8 years they've only just now started getting small dents in it.

The 64 controller was good aside from some games not using the thumbstick, and the thumbsticks wore out after a while.
Neither was the console perfect, but Super Mario 64 was the first game to ever get a 10/10 on gamespot, and that was WAAAAY before they started accepting bribes.
