Is it just me or was the thread title changed?
it was changed from yi gi oh to yugimons to yu gi oh
I asked lithifold.
i'd be funny if this thread turned into a megathread
Here's a few of my cards

(Sorry for bad photo, my camera ran out of batteries before I could take another.)
I used to play this when I was younger.
Regardless of the quality of the series, I still think it was a fun game with interesting cards.

I stopped watching the show long before I even got the cards.

Haha, I just walked into our tv room and yi-gi-oh was playing.
Me and my cousin tried to get back into it a few years ago playing with the proper rules and we set up proper decks with correct amount of card's. We gave up after a few hours of playing. Good fun though.
If anyone here has seen the series and wants some good laughs:

I loved Yu-Gi-Oh, I have about like 500-800 cards :(
Though this is a coincidence because during a chat on tuesday me and a friend decided we were gonna get a deck together and play on saturday either high or with shots ...

Right, so now that I'm home it appears my room was turned into a storage room whilst I was away.
So here's some photo's of my 'collection'.
Well, about 25% of it anyway:

This is the shelving in my room that is full of cards, sealed boxes of packs of cards and anything yu-gi-oh/dinosaur king/Versus System/Warcraft related.
Here's a closer look at one of the shelves:

There's also this shelving full of folders of cards:

In the back room we have some 20 boxes under the bed all full of cards:

Here's a trophy:

And a deck box with some of the lettering scratched off:

Teeheehee.
The rest is in the attic, I ventured up there today but forgot to take pictures. There's a few hundred boxes up there.
I fucking hate you, how did you get so many cards?????????
Working for the company that makes them for 6 years.
Volunteer work.
We got paid in sealed displays.
Also my dad was head of organised play for the UK for a while.
You're welcome to buy some from my ebay if you like haha.
Got a giant box of them in my closet, they are collecting dust.
Lithifold, that website sucks. I registered and downloaded the program, and first of all it took ages creating my deck, then I looked for an opponent after finally reaching 40 cards, and I could do stuff on his turn, like summon monsters and activate magic cards, I could also draw as many cards as I liked from my deck, and see what was there.
What website?
The one that other guy posted up there?
Yeah I know.
YVD is alright but not great for it.

well technically you could do that all in real life with real cards, but you dont, so why would you on that program?
Its basically ment to be like the real game, you do it yourself.
Now you could say "Thats just lazy programming" but honestly, the rules of this game are so complex the modern games made by Konami literately ask you if you want to play a card EVERY SINGLE MOMENT you or your opponent does ANYTHING. Its much simpler to have everything manual like that program.

Yeah, it is pretty lazy programming.
You could get the rulings database from http://netrep.net/ and just set boundries and checks on each card. It'd be as easy as making the programme scan what is in each zone and check for keywords within the database.
Netrep names each specific card that cards have specific ruling problems outside of the basic rules. When you say "respond to every card" wouldn't be a problem. A small check to see what you have on the field and again checking the keywords of its conditions should be easy. You can pretty much chain to anything. Chains resolve backwards. So say I play Torrential Tribute the game would check to see if you can do anything. So if you were to respond with a counter-trap such as Solemn Judgement it would check for the conditions of your card but exclude anything that isn't a counter trap (as the only thing that can be chained to a counter trap is a counter trap). The chain would then resolve backwards.
Solemn Judgement > Torrential Tribute
As the keywords Negate would be in the text, the game would negate any effect of the next thing in the chain. Therefore negating the Torrential Tribute and canceling the effect. Similarily, if there was say another Solemn Judgement on the chain then it would simply negate the affect and of negation and let the affect continue.
If you're gonna make something make it well as I always say.
Yo dawg, I'm Rob Hooley. I'm a level 2 Yu-Gi-Oh! judge with level 2 player management who worked judging Yu-Gi-Oh! from 2004 to 2009. It's my job to know these rules off by heart and to be honest, most of it is common sense. Apart from certain things which just have to be ruled as "because Konami said so." Then it works on Konami sense. So if you need any rulings questions just PM me haha.
Remember every card is situational. Even pot of greed. It requires you to have cards in your deck.
Lithifold, do you know of any GOOD programs for playing yu-gi-oh! Online?
I'd like to try some matches with my friends.
Nope, YVD used to be pretty good but you find that noone wants to do the hard work.
