I recorded this video of FF7 with some mods And because I used ripped models from other square games I got 50,000+ messages asking me where I got them, how to put them into the game, what version I was using, and even some people asking if I had a "special russian version" of FF7, whatever that means. I still fucking get those messages on youtube, most of which are usually "WHERE YOU GET TIFA MODEL SHES SO BEAUTIFUL" and a bunch of weird shit so I just stopped responding to them. Also back in middle school I found a way to get Quake on the computers and I spread it so much that they ended up locking down access to them to prevent us from installing it anywhere.
A dumb skyrim video of mine got 500k views, then was featured on IGN. I was featured in a news article about cancer in young children or something. I didn't actually have cancer though, I was just the sickest looking child they could find in the hospital, so they took a picture of me.
Ever had a 15 minute of fame moment or moments where you felt famous? Share 'em here. I'll start. One time in November '13, I was playing a Counter-Strike Global Offensive match, I pulled a Negev Ace during one of the rounds without reloading at all. Everyone went "wtf" and "nice man". Gave me a nice boost of confidence.
I did something similar on dust2, all the CTs were all rushing tunnels from B, I was there, and I unloaded on all of them, and won the round in about 10 seconds everyone was freaking out
once I got like 100 funnies
When I was on kritzkast.
My fifteen minutes of fame are yet to come. April 17th a movie I helped do audio-post for will be released in theaters. So that's pretty cool.
MaxOfS2D once posted one of my TF2 screenshots on his twitter. And then nobody cared.
MaxOfS2D once posted one of my TF2 screenshots on his twitter. And then nobody cared.
oh?
i remember i asked max for help about 3dsmax stuff and he helped :v:
when I was like 12 or something I was on the news when a huge skate-park opened up in my city (they even put a clip of me falling over in the park iirc) then also a tf2 map I made was recently featured on the gamebanana front page and that was neat
Oh yeah, I had my Unreal and Quake 1 remake maps featured on some german website http://www.pcgames.de/Crysis-2-PC-213107/News/Unreal-mit-Cry-Engine-3-Grafik-Epic-Games-Kult-Shooter-als-Crysis-2-Map-in-Arbeit-Screenshots-872820/ http://www.pcgames.de/Crysis-2-PC-213107/News/Quake-mit-CryEngine-3-Modder-will-Oldschool-Shooter-wiederauferstehen-lassen-Erste-Vergleichsbilder-Bilder-des-Tages-864947/ Was very bizzare stumbling across these
I did some stuff for Star Citizen which ended up being featured on PCngames and some german PCGames magazine. It also was made Most Valuable Post by the devs.
I made a joke about a kid drowning on Facepunch. I actually won post of the year 2012 for it which is neat I guess.
On Facepunch, I made a shitty albeit popular spin-off mod for Fallout 3 with the original creator's permission where I did requests and pit NPCs of posters in the game. Even had a bit of drama where the original mod's creator (Who only took moderator requests) got mad and got banned when he started flaming us as his one wasn't getting any attention. It was going okay until the custom subforums got cut.
I went onstage with this guy once: My parents decided to take us to see Gallagher when he was doing a show. If you aren't aware who he is, he's a comedian who's famous for smashing shit like watermelons. He was big in the 80s. Anyway, we saw him and near the end of the show after doing a pretty adult set (at least for my age) he called out into the audience and said "Hey, any of you kids out there having a birthday this year? Come on up, we're having cake!" My brother and I, along with a handful of other kids, headed up onstage and, well, had cake. He made this awful cake out of shaving cream, hotdogs, and a bunch of other nasty crap and smashed it in front of us. Got us covered in gunk. After a few minutes, he let us all try to smash stuff with the sledge-o-matic. I failed miserably, but my brother was the only kid who could lift it over his head and properly destroy things. It was fun, either way. He ended up getting his picture in the paper, though. Bastard.
When my/Team game got shown at the GDC that was pretty awesome
Made a really really crappy video that somehow got ~4.5k views https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3Vz8v7ITy0 Also met Duff McKagan, which was pretty cool.
When my/Team game got shown at the GDC that was pretty awesome
What's your game?
I was well known on the german serves on Guild Wars for a few months. Then I realized it was because I was online nearly 24/7. After that, I realized I was online 24/7 because I was unemployed. Ah, Good Ol' Times :zoid:
I made a video of me messing around in a physics sandbox called "Phun" because i was bored and there was no effort at all, and awoke to 60.000 views, that later went up to 650.000, then it got taken down for copyrighted music, but the views never got taken away from my "Total views", so atleast i have that. I'm the pilot in this video. Nearly 600k views, really didn't expect it. Speaking of DayZ, I was the first to survive 24h straight, at least since stat tracking was implemented. There's still a post about it on the twitter I think

I think my 15 minutes have elongated into 15 months, and still running. It's weird.
One of my YouTube videos, despite not being particularly good or interesting, has almost 1,200,000 views.
I guess this video Kotaku wrote an article on it and CollegeHumor tweeted it
Ooh, probably making that German Shepard npc for gmod a while back. I was so bad at programming back then.
once I got like 100 funnies
I think I got a lot one time too. How do you find your highest rated post?
I'll probably get a few couple-a boxes for this, but... Last year at school, I held a PowerPoint presentation infront of my class about My Little Pony, which lasted about 15 minutes. [sp]And no, I didn't lose any bets.[/sp] What surprised me the most was that my classmates, albeit being a bunch of generic douchebags, actually didn't make fun of me for it. They all sat there, listening, asking me questions about the community and the show, as well as why I found it appealing. They even told me that I was brave to talk about such infront of a male-dominant class (because there was only one girl in our class). Even my teacher was impressed over the quality of the presentation, as well as my performance. I got an A.
Me and the lead singer of my favorite band did a duet. I was on the front page of the Chicago Tribune for crying on santas lap.
The opportunity to run a successful Minecraft community. My life.
