It's a similar thing yeah. ASMR is, as I understand it, a simple way for quite a lot of people to get a little pleasurable tingling sensation at the base of their neck. Any sound or feeling (I believe some people can get it from touching certain fabrics and the like), could be said to be a form of ASMR.
