I'm wondering if I missed a big chunk of school were they taught studying techniques and methods or if I was just so unfortunately placed in the rapidly evolving school system that I managed to miss it I heard people taking about studying techniques a few years back for the first time and thought it was just some hipster shit. isn't studying just forcing yourself to read more or less uninteresting textbooks over and over again so you can remember it for the test and nothing more? Maybe copying down whatever is written on the blackboard. But apparently not, there's some techniques for writing notes or something? How do you develop a technique out of reading a textbook? How do you make yourself enjoy the process of learning something you find inherently unenjoyable? Because that's apparently possible somehow. I feel like this is stuff meant for people way beyond my level, for actually smart people going to university or something. But now it's being brought up by 13 year olds like it's something you're supposed to just know at that age. I asked what this technique shit is from a teacher some time back and he acted like I was asking what a 9/11 is. Supposedly it's a really important part of studying after you're past the age of 12 but I know nothing about it.

I know I'm going to get a lot of hate for this, but I wish I got better rewarded for the things I do in life. I'm not talking about physical rewards only, while those would be very welcome, I'd also like some appreciation in a direct form of communication. A simple: "Hey, that was great, thanks!", or "I really appreciate you at times". I feel like I pour my all into people who take this for granted, but at the same time I'm too weak to say anything of it hoping for them to finally notice what impact I have had / am having on their lives. I sometimes wonder how their daily life would look like if I just were to step out of it and stop feeding this routine I've created for them. I feel like directly telling someone they're not appreciating you is a no-go, though. It might spark a fire I don't want to start.
