When I was a kid my mother would get really mad at times and then she would lock me up in the bathroom with the lights turned off (the light switch was outside the bathroom). I had (and still have) a phobia for dark places, so the experience was absolutely horrifying for me. There was this one time I was crying really bad and begging mom to let me out, I went like this for like an hour until I hit my head on the door then I started bleeding and fell to the ground. They put me in a room in the adolescent wing with 4 roommates. The rooms were separated by sex to discourage people from well... having sex, clearly that didn't work. I think I have avoidant personality disorder, one bad comment to my posts and I isolate myself for a week contemplating what went wrong.
