I find bits of computer science quite interesting even though I suck with computers myself so they're okay in my book even if most of them are neckbeards with no social skills. Don't worry Roll_Program I recognize that engineers are necessary in society but I don't like to like them, much like lawyers.
However for people who want to get rammed by Toothless there is no such necessity so the only solution is Exterminatus.

It's not exactly fair to have both Wolfenstein (released 1992) and UT2004 in the same category. Especially since it's not sorted by year - I think if you showed all major shooters, by year, you'd find a lot of games that look similar to contemporaneous games.
I mean, Look at 2004's big games.
Halo 2 and UT2004 look pretty similar - no doubt about it. Half-Life 2 has some similarities to these as well, but not too many.
Doom 3 also looks pretty similar, save the lighting. If you look at Doom 3's well-lit areas, they tend to look similar to Halo 2 or UT2004. Even Battlefield: Vietnam bears certain resemblances, although that might just be the level of the technology at the time.

That image made me want to go back and re-play like 10 games. I never really liked military-oriented realistic shooters, but I know they aren't really a new thing
