Because Kids are too stupid to know what a dimention is and they just think that the more dimentions, the better the movie is.
But on that note, even my 10 year old brother found it funny how bad the movie was when he saw the ad.

Disney's been using the term 4D to describe some of their theme park attractions for a while. But with touch, as well as smell.
There's a Muppets and a Bugs Life show at Disneyland/California Adventure where they have different sensory effects. It's pretty clever actually.
