Nope, it'd just cause the internet to flare up with "Yeah, we should definitely do something! I feel so motivated now! I feel like I have purpose!" comments on scores of web forums. Then what? Nothing. Not a damn thing. That's not how Facebook works either. A music video of your average pop song or a cat-fight or a cute animal rolling around would get more attention than a speech from a film. Hell, even I posted that on facebook once or twice, during the time of day when most of my friends are online, and what did I get? I got two or even three likes on it at the most. After that it's swept away by all of the "im so fuckin drnunk" statuses, the midnight birthday wishes, your group updates, and even the "The first 1,000,000,000 people to like X by Y will get a free Z! Totally legit!" events flowing through the news feed. An inspirational speech getting any attraction by the majority of people on FB would have to have some stupid song in the background, be given by someone famous from [i]the now[/i] (someone like Barack Obama, Katy Perry, or some random but famous athlete,) or be turned into some crumby song (E.G. that "be who you wanna be if you work hard at it" song with some catchy beat and famous singer thrown into the mix.) The truth is, barely anyone will pay attention to it. Hell, I've spammed Pale Blue Dot and other speeches by Carl Sagan on FB, and the most I get is a few Likes from people who know what the speech is about, or that one friend of mine who Likes everything and anything that her friends post.

You misunderstand. Those with actual thought moreso than that of a small bird, would listen and would rise. The rest would follow like the sheep they are. If a million people do it, and it's publicized, then it's probably a good bet a million more will follow. I mean on the front page. So everyone can see it. Not just a small fraction of people, like those you know. I don't mean that in an offensive way. It would reach out to more people than you just posting. Even if a fraction joins, A fraction of 10 million can still be 100,000.

Speeches won't help shit, a few well-placed words won't change the world, action will.
You want to change the world? Get off the computer, learn about the cause you're willing to fight for and get out there, protest, demonstrate, try to find others who are willing to do what you are doing.
Talk about sheep all you want, because to me it sounds like you're just a sheep yourself who talks big but acts small.
And don't give me "But I'm alone!"-bullshit either, you should know you can't expect others to do what you want to do, if you want something in this world you go out there and try to catch it, not complain and wish somebody else did it for you.
