There's a theory that the first people that will live to 500 years old have already been born (as such life-extending technology may be developed in their natural lifetimes), so there may be so much more we'll be able to see.
Sounds sweet. Even if we lived to like 1000 years old [asari style from Mass Effect] I would be happy. Do you think we will see a more natural disasters or even something big, affecting say a certain part of the world?
ISON comet 2013 (hopefully, if it remains intact)
The death of pretty much everyone you've ever looked up to. Gabe N, a ton of actors, artists etc. A man walking on mars. A permanent base on the Moon.
I think the actor thing is the worst for me, I'm a big fan of like stallone, arnie, jean claude, seagal, even though the last 2 just do straight to dvd stuff now mostly
The 3D Printing revolution. The inevitable legal disputes that arise from widespread 3d printing.
4chan gets shut down due to insufficient funds.
sorry to go off topic, but why do so many people hate 4chan? in all my time browsing and posting on it, I've seen nothing comparable to what people have told me it's like. Remember: /b/ isn't all of 4chan
I watched a documentry on this, pretty scary stuff
I didn't know anything about that. Is there a chance we can get around that problem? Or should we hope that immortality becomes affordable when it's ready?

Infections become resistant to antibiotics after they are exposed to them, which is why some antibiotics will not work for certain problems.
as for good / bad events witnessed during my life, off the top of my head first black president world trade center iraq feud felix bumgardner breaking the sound barrier ISS being complete virgin commercial space program
Don't forget the turn of the millennium. [editline]15th January 2013[/editline] It was for a bad flu I think.
I think its a long slow process that happens over time, it has to mutate and spread and mutate to become resistant. Its why superbugs are such a risk, they are just bugs that have been exposed to so many antibiotics they have evolved to be resistant to the lot.
well fuck
That just made me choke up a little. Seen it before, but with all this mention of the inevitability of Gabens death, just made it more emotional.

Its why superbugs are such a risk, they are just bugs that have been exposed to so many antibiotics they have evolved to be resistant to the lot.
Pretty much this. They are trying to find a way not to use anti-biotics and they have ways just it needs to be tested. The documentary was pretty interesting, they had something in petri dishes at different stages of mutation, the first one had little infection with 1 tablet inside going all the way up to superbug which had a full pack of tablets in and the infection hadn't even moved back, it just consumed the entire dish. I hate it when you see programs on TV about STI and people who get chlamydia and are like 'you just pop a few pills and its gone'.. Yea nice thinking mate only every time people do that its just building up a resistance
