When using google you're not trying to get the bottom of the page as quickly as possible, you're actually SEARCHING. This involves using your eyes to see the stuff, and if you rush to the bottom you won't find it. Scroll wheel is good, but real men use pgdwn and pgup. Best of both worlds, but it takes a bit of getting used to
