We get it, JPG reduces quality of images by a variable amount depending on compression, ranging from completely un-fucking-noticeable to unreadable text. It's still an excellent, useful format.

Your paint pictures? Well shit if it's just an MS paint picture that YOU drew, save it as PNG, it will look nicer, and PNG compresses simple pictures such as MS paint pictures very well.

To person below: PNG uses LOSSLESS compression, as opposed to LOSSY (like JPG) and NO compression (like BMP). They're all good for their own little things.

Exactly. I've had many a picture that I accidentally saved as .jpg, and spent hours trying to clean it up afterewards. Pisses me off.
