It looks like it doesn't know what it wants to be. Does it want to be a hatchback? Shooting brake? Or a coupé? The windshield is far too steep for those proportions as well, and three-spoke wheels never looked fashionable. Their cars are some of the safest cars on the road, especially back in the 80s/90s. Even the location of the ignition being inbetween the seats was done with ergonomics and safety in mind. Sit in the car and straight away you put the key in as you go in and your hand is straight away right next to the gear stick/handbrake ready to go. And in the event of a crash, it prevents injuries to the knee where the keys would get jammed into your knee. I've seen no other car company think of that type of shit. When GM bought them out GM wanted them to make shitty cheap mass produced cars on the base of GM models, SAAB basically said fuck that and continued making their own shit. Their cars are also some of the most enjoyable to drive. I've driven a SAAB 900 and it was the best car I've ever driven. My dads driven shitloads of SAABs and and he's told me that they're the best cars that he's ever driven. And he's a mechanic so he's driven a fuckload of different cars (luxury mercs, BMWs, even Porsches and that type of shit). They made SAAB 900s in four door but it doesn't look as nice. They also were innovative as fuck, they were basically the first car company to put turbo in every single one of their car lines, they invented the self repairing bumper, electrically heated seats, all sorts of shit. Telescopic steering wheel columns so in the event of a crash it would collapse instead of going through your chest, seat belts, all that type of shit. But that doesn't mean that they're not allowed to be ugly, because they are to me. Older Italian cars, especially older Alfas and Lancias (except the 80's for some Alfas), were seen as beautiful with classic Italian flair, but I'm sure your dad could attest to them being among the least-reliable cars ever made. Because they probably were. I actually like that 900 sedan much more than the coupé/hatchback/shooting-brake/whatever-it-is, because the proportions are so much better. The wheels are also actually tasteful, unlike that three spoke disaster on the model with the multiple personality disorder. I assume the one in that picture is an American model because of the horrid bumper extrusions, so I imagine it would look much better without those extrusions.

If I could buy any reasonably affordable car today, I would get either an A3 Sportback, Holden Commodore SS or base model Alfa Giulia (sedan, not the Giulietta hatchback but which also looks incredible). A lot of Audis look rather decent, but I don't love them unconditionally; the Audi R8s just look wrong to me, for instance.

I DO love the RS4 B7 though. Straight up dream car. No gtr, no Veyron, no lambo, nothing. Just give me a RS4. Perfect ammount of hp, usable daily (except bad mpg) and subtle yet rugged looks... Mmmmmm... But are sportbacks nice for every person or just for people who like sportbacks? In a few years, I'm gonna need a new used car. Sadly, it will be a diesel, because Portugal's diesel market is huge and much better than petrol due to the latter being expensive to pay per litre. I could go either for the 8P 3 door or 5 door sportback, or a Seat Leon, which is basicaly the same, but slightly lower quality but better reliability. The sportback looks cool as fuck, but I don't know if its really worth it... Love the looka though. Does it come with a sunroof? I'd love to have one.
