I'd reckon the one he snapped a pic of is a custom.
custom looks better imo looks like a mobster car to me for some reason [editline]29th May 2017[/editline]
The proportions sort of look wrong on both the 3 and 5 door; the bonnet is too long, but then again it has to be if they were going to longitudinally mount an inline 6 in there. They should have had a shorter bonnet, had an inline 4 be the largest engine on offer, and called it a day. The M-Sport and M models look sort of alright, but their other trims like the urban line just look wrong; they look like they were engineered by shortening other BMW models, rather than designing them purposefully for that kind of hatchback. The 1 series is cool for being a front-engined, rear-wheel drive hatch which can even have an inline 6 under the bonnet, but I can't look at one and think that I'd like to own it. [editline]29th May 2017[/editline] But I'm biased because I like Italian hatchbacks instead
I couldn't agree more. Part of me wants to save for this, because its a rear wheel drive hatchback, and I've never tried a rwd car before, and the interior looks really nice along with that odd exterior which kind of grows on me, but the diesels are a pain in the ass because you either have to remove swirl flaps on the M47 or constantly buy timing chains on the N47, the petrols aren't any better, and the interior is apparently plasticy, which is a big nono. Theres also the M pack deal as you said. People want an extra 5k if it has the M pack styling, and that usually makes it go upwards of 15k, which seems like a total waste of cash for such a car, when I could just get an A3 with a fantastic interior and exterior for a bit less, and a really good engine that doesn't fails at something.
I somehow ended up looking for used Miata's today. I usually dont like really small cars, but the Miata is definetly an exception to that.
A rotary Miata is one of my dream cars. I'd pick that over a 911.

Is it really that hard to do those screens right? The A6 has what I think its the very best screen ever. Blends PERFECTLY into the dashboard when closed, and doesn't looks like it was an aftermarket deal that went on after buying the car.

I love the newest (european) Civics. They're edgy, but the right kind of edgy. Aren't they supposed to line up with the gearbox and transmission?

[editline]1st June 2017[/editline] There's just a certain sense of comfyness in them that you can't get in modern cars.
Some look ok, but others look cluttered as hell or just excessively big, like the VW's dash buttons. The BMW is the best one there. It's so simple, and it keeps the gauge cluster away from all the other things. I hate it when they make it a unibody with the rest of the dash, instead of making its own "cubbie hole". But the worst has got to be dashboards that put nothing in front of you, and put all the gauges in the center instead, like the newer Twingo Many wrong things there, but the speedometer in the middle takes the cake, and gen 2 is even worse
U joints. Virtually every drivetrain in every car uses them with the driveshafts.
yeah but doesn't it seem logical to mount the engine/tranny on existing parallel mounts? especially when it's, you know, apocalypse and you don't have much to work with
It's Mad Max dude. Logic is a term people forgot.
Logic was replaced with Radical the instant society collapsed
coolest interior of the 80s by far was the lagonda [t]https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/d9/c9/00/d9c900a6c334cccb142ddcf38547fb9c.jpg[/t]
yeah but doesn't it seem logical to mount the engine/tranny on existing parallel mounts? especially when it's, you know, apocalypse and you don't have much to work with
Engine mounts are extremely easy to fabricate, and making a driveshaft go through a 20 degree turn is hard on the U-joints. Better to mount the engine in-line with the differential, really. [editline]3rd June 2017[/editline] As for "lining up with the gearbox" in your initial post, the gearbox hangs off the back of the engine, so it's always in line no matter where the engine is.
Christ, this fucking thing is awful. [t]http://cdn-imgsvr.cars.co.za/images/2017/3/ToyotaCHR/x.jpg/chr2.jpg[/t]

How do you guys feel about the Sweptail? Regardless, I can't see how any car is really worth $13m.

I'm sure they don't mind whether it's worth $3 million or $13 million. I like it because it's so excessive in a way that only a Rolls can be. But I still don't know why they make two door cars unless it's a made to order car.

I put a price tag on it because it actually had an (estimated) price tag of $13m [x] I know a rolls isn't just any car, but even if I had that much money, I couldn't see spending it on something like that. But then again, I don't have that kind of money, so I can't say for certain.
That backseat is absolutely hideous
It looks like a boat.

Hot Rod Power Tour was in Davenport, IA today. So many classic cars all around town, I really regret not having my phone with me.
My contender this week for ugliest vehicles isn't any particular vehicle, but rather, any and all cars that have a combination of chrome window surrounds and black wheels. It just took looks so messy and lacking in taste. Examples: [t]http://s3.caradvice.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/VF-SSV-Show-Car-031.jpg[/t] [t]http://st.automobilemag.com/uploads/sites/11/2015/10/2016-Tesla-Model-X-front-three-quarter-2.JPG.jpg[/t] [t]http://www.benzclassroom.com/media/mercedes-c63-amg-black-series-on-hre-wheels-autoevolution_l_19c114db4883f4e8.png[/t] If it has chrome window surrounds, then give it the wheels to match. There's nothing wrong with chrome window surrounds or black wheels; but like tomato sauce on vanilla ice cream, they just don't go together very well.
