When I first saw the picture I thought it was mid 00's. I wasn't sure that you were right when you said it was that old but yeah; done in 1992. That's incredible.
Although the longer I look at it, the more 90's it becomes; the headlights and wheels are a dead giveaway, and the tall ass is reminiscent of the XJ220 and Diablo.

Speaking of concept cars, anyone remember the GT90?

It looks fucking hideous, but when I was a wee lad I had a toy model of the GT90, and I thought it was the coolest thing anyone ever made. It was just awesome how such a car could exist, even if only a concept. One thing I genuinely like about it are the triangular tail lights and exhausts, just because of how bold and unconventional they are.
I like the triangle motifs and the front end isn't all that bad, even if a little bland :v: The back end overdoes the triangle thing a bit much, but I still remember seeing the Pagani for the first time and thinking "Hah, all that talk of fighter airplane styling is all baloney, they nicked that back from a GT90 :v:". Speaking of Pagani, a controversial opinion but I think of all the super/hypercars they're the ugliest to look at.

The Pagani retching sound is slightly better, but the original Zonda has a face only Pagani could love. The interiors are pretty gaudy to look at too:

Cluttered car designs are the worst. Especially new Hondas.
The VF Commodore was offered with a range of styling options. You could have chrome or black intake grille and brake vent surrounds, black or chrome side window surrounds, body colour or black roof, body colour or black side window caps, body colour or black lip spoiler (or rear wing), red tail lights or Altezzas (kinda), racing stripes on the bonnet and/or on the sides, bonnet vents, and a choice between dozens of wheels. If you went for the higher-spec models like the SS-V Redline then you couldn't not have many of those options, which often conflicted, and so they looked gaudy as hell.
It's why I liked the SV6 and standard SS models the most. They are just clean.

I'd suggest that the Holden VF range was actually an outlier. It was the first time that an Australian maker made a properly good car. Holden finally nailed the styling to the point that it rivalled European design, it was well-built and very well equipped. There have been good looking Australian cars in the past, but they were often poorly built and/or poorly equipped compared to imported rivals. Eg the last ever Falcon series, the FG X, was a disgrace in those two areas and didn't even have the looks to make up for it.
But the praise for Holden finally making a good car is all for naught anyways, as Holden has shut down production.
I think the new Ducati Panigale V4 looks so good and I'm not even a sportsbike guy

Honda only gets cluttered on their showcase cars like the Type R or the Clarity.
If you want to talk cluttered, look at Toyota and Lexus.
They have embraced the design philosophy of MORE COMPLICATED = MORE BETTER

Holden now makes Chevy cars right? Demuro reviewed a SS that apparently is a Holden underneath, even made in Australia.

The Chevrolet SS was a re-badged Holden VF Commodore SS-V Redline. Likewise, the 00's Pontiac GTO and Pontiac G8 were re-badged from the Holden VZ Monaro and Holden VE Commodore, respectively. Similarly, Vauxhall VXR8's in the UK are re-badged HSVs, where HSV is to Holden what AMG is to Mercedes.
Holden doesn't make any cars any more. The last Holden factory shut down late last year.

Actually to be fair, Holden and HSV later stuffed up the VZ Monaro by putting bonnet scoops on them as well. The only good Monaros are the V2 series CV8s and Coupé 4s.
But yeah. Things like bonnet scoops, rear wings, racing stripes etc are a very big no for me.

Always ironic to think that despite all of the extra regulations ever since, cars as early as the Group A cars of the late 90's have not only been safer, but even faster as well. Group B cars have nothing on current WRC cars.

The thing that made Group B really dangerous was the fact they got stupidly powerful within such a short time, their base HP and torque had more than doubled by the time they were banned compared to when they were introduced.
Also the whole spectators with deathwishs standing so close to the roads and on the outside corners, Group B is why they can't do that anymore.
If it kept going Group B cars really would have been absolute monsters, which is funny when they were already deemed too fast to race back then.

I dunno, Group B probably would have died anyways. Group A touring cars were very similar, and look what happened to them. They started off as mainly just race-prepared road cars, until the category was overtaken by crazy Sierra Cosworths, and then 600bhp Skyline GT-Rs by the 90's. They had to cancel the category because the arms race between the makers was making it too expensive for competitive cars to be fielded. If Group B were allowed to survive any longer, they probably would have cancelled it too for the same reason.
