2nd Generation Toyota Prius

Not an exciting car by any means but still a handsome well designed car. The design is simple, efficient, and proportioned good.
Then skipping the third generation we get to the current fourth generation.
And what the fuck is this

It looks like a bug that get stepped on.
Look at the nose that juts out.
The almost 3 headlamps.
The A Pillar that looks like it's glued to the side.
The windows that were replaced with plastic panels.
The rear end that curves in and out 3 times.
The taillights mounted at the driver's eye level.
The ungodly amount of lines.
And those lines starting, stopping, and turning for unknown reasons.
Looking at these two is like comparing modernism and post-modernism.
While cool looking, it also had a lot of reliability-related horror stories.
Also on the topic of Priuses, the brand new Hyundai Ioniq already looks better than every Prius released so far.

If we're talking about hybrids... I really, really like the first gen Honda Insight. With the manual trans that little bugger really pulled in the MPGs.

I don't like how the 2nd gen ripped off the Prius design, and honestly don't find any of the Priuseses beautiful.
The first gen Insight is actually listed as the #1 most fuel efficient car ever sold in the United States by the E.P.A., so there's that.
Plus, Honda did the Prius's lil' back window thing first with the CR-X.

My dad's had one as a daily for ages now. Even if you think they look like a shoe, it's a bloody good car. The thing can take abuse with a grin, buff it up and it would fit in at a 5 star restaraunt after an offroad adventure. It's a damn fine thing.

IMO, the only benz that look good are the CLA and the SL line, particularly the last ones.
The first looks like it has the right proportions (not huge but not small, instead of the usual football field) and the second has fantastic styling.
Every other merc to me looks like a giant slab of metal with a place to sit in. Excluding the Evo, that looks nice.

In case of Dacia 1300 the Romanians said: "Hey there frenchies, this car is pretty great, can we make it too?" to which Renault said: "Yeah, sure."
In case of Logan, it was the other way around.

I do not think that there's even a single, modern Pontiac that works with that front fascia. When GM imported the Holden Monaro into North America as the Pontiac GTO, they screwed it up. They went from this in Australia (granted, it's a HSV Coupé GTS, so it's not your average Monaro):

Pointless, fake holes in the bonnet? Wrong. Rear wing? Wrong. Badged as a damn Pontiac? Wrong. But Holden weren't innocent either, because they later introduced the holes in the bonnet as standard, and even sold the Pontiac front fascia here as an option.
