I don't like it though, it looks too much like a minivan. At least from that angle, but from other angles it also looks too bulky.

It's not remotely ugly, but it's sure as hell interesting. A turnkey steamcar as convenient as a modern car, from 1924. That was faster than the world's fastest car that was XK120. But the doble came 30 years before the 120 hit.

I have an '09 Matrix, same color. I think the front is fine on both, but the back of the Vibe looks like they were trying to make it boxier or something, mine looks a lot sharper.
I get resale offers every time I go to the dealer for maintenance with it, but I'm not giving it up anytime soon.

It's the 1990's image quality thats making it look bad. Reminds me of those ugly picture of the Viper R/T. Good looking car, awful picture quality.
I don't like the A pillars all that much either. They should be more visible, but it seems it really is an image problem and nothing else.

Never been one for the RX-8 personally. I much prefer RX-7's and MX-5's.
That said. 10 grand for an RX-8 isn't too bad, and manual transmission is fun. How many miles has it driven?
And speaking of transmissions, what do you guys prefer? Automatic or Manual?
I've only ever driven Manual. I'd like to try out a car with Automatic transmission, but will in the end probably stick with Manual since it's what I've driven so far, and Manual transmissions are way cheaper around here.

The reason they're so cheap is that they often burn through an engine in under 80k miles. RX-8s and Wankels are cool as fuck but I wouldn't own one unless I had money to burn on gas, oil, and apex seals.

Correct me if I am wrong but IIRC its because of the apex seals not being able to take the heat isn't it? I've seen RX 7 owners with engines that practically last forever because they've driven it while keeping an eye at the temps at all time.
Its a bit contradictory, you gotta push a sports car hard but then when you do that temperatures go wild.

I have to give Honda some credit here. Honestly, they are trying their hardest to make the stupid fucking taillights less stupid, and it looks okay in front. The interior isn't bad at all, full digital dash on the 2017's (instead of that god-awful huge single speedo previously, although the digital dash is basically just that anyway). It's a comfy ride and has ridiculous headroom. Very spacious. I can totally see why the older/family crowd loves these things.
But as I was driving it, I just had this vision of me gleefully jumping out of it as I launched it off a fucking cliff, fucking it up, and ending up killing myself, but I'd die happy knowing that truly terrible car would die with me.
CVTs are hell. I hate them. It drives exactly like the fucking Prius we already have.
(Happy ending: we then drove a CX-5 which I loved and hope we'll buy.)
