Cereal is not soup because it's not called soup it's as simple as that folks
I call it soup therefore it is a soup.
You need to heat up your soup to prepare and eat it properly (though you can still eat it cold if you're a masochist) You don't do that ever to cereal Therefore, cereal is probably not soup
grape nuts

If I put water in a bowl is it soup?
Food is a spectrum. You can point out similarities between foods of the same type, but those are not the rules that make the food that type of food. You can make a series of foods gradually become less and less similar from other foods of that type, but you can't find the exact point where it becomes a different food.
This got me thinking Does dish water qualify as soup? Since it basically hot water and usually some food in it
Make your own fucking thread
ok
First I thought "milk isn't a broth", then someone pointed out tomato soup + clam chowder. Then I thought "soup has a sort of savory flavor profile", then I found out there are dessert soups. So now I'm not sure if cereal is soup.. but I need to try a dessert soup asap

Let Corn Flakes sit in milk for 6 hours, strain the cereal. Volla, Corn marrow broth.

Cereal is a chowder not a soup
Cereal is any grass cultivated for the edible components of its grain (botanically, a type of fruit called a caryopsis), composed of the endosperm, germ, and bran. Cereal grains are grown in greater quantities and provide more food energy worldwide than any other type of crop and are therefore staple crops. Edible grains from other plant families, such as buckwheat (Polygonaceae), quinoa (Amaranthaceae) and chia (Lamiaceae), are referred to as pseudocereals. In their natural form (as in whole grain), cereals are a rich source of vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, fats, oils, and protein. When refined by the removal of the bran and germ, the remaining endosperm is mostly carbohydrate. In some developing countries, grain in the form of rice, wheat, millet, or maize constitutes a majority of daily sustenance. In developed countries, cereal consumption is moderate and varied but still substantial. The word cereal is derived from Ceres, the Roman goddess of harvest and agriculture. It's not soup
