but 60% of the time my home's empty because of work and school and shit
even if i could get a pet, i wouldn't do it because i can't take care of it

never liked slice of life animu that much it reminds me of a cartoon version of our local serials, and not in a good way, some of it can be humorous but most of it is samey trash

Well the thing about tortoises and lizards is that they don't exactly require play. They're not like dogs and are a-okay sticking around in their tanks for longer periods of time! Ideal if you're not home very often.

NOT ideal beginner pets: dogs, cats, birds, aquatic turtles
i wish more people got reptiles b/c they need some love and are usually way easier to take care of than mammals lol

what about Iguanas and Snakes?
reptiles like to chill out

Pets are too much work man. Then it's like "Hey you small thing. I'm going to care for you till you die so you better trust your life with me". Also that's too much commitment, I like the idea of being able to drop everything and just leaving someplace whenever I want with no responsibilities. If that makes any sense at all :v:.

snakes depend on the kind but they are usually pretty low maintenance! they are natural escape artists though so you gotta have a good setup.
iguanas are VERY LARGE and eat a lot and need a very specific diet so those are not very ideal beginner pets.definitely good if you have the experience and stuff for it though
