Play MGS4 before PW because it is best to play PW directly before MGSV, but it is best to play MGSV sometime after MGS4.

i mean i'm gonna be playing them all within like 2 weeks of each other anyway i don't think it matters much
afaik there's not plot spoilers to mgs4 in PW and that's the game i'm more excited to play by far
i don't really get why everyone seems to hate that i'm playing PW next even tho the same people said 4 is shit

and again i get that it's probably optimal to play 4 next but if there's no plot spoilers i'm not too bothered
i'm super excited for the coop and i don't wanna wait the 2 or so weeks it's gonna take for me to get thru 4 just because other people wanted me to play that one first

Imo if he wants to play PW before 4 that's fine. In all honestly POOPS, PW, and V are all just filler story with 4 being the actual game where everything comes together. Also yeah, nothing you learn in PW pertains to 4. If anything he should play POOPS before 4 since that's still semi canon.
