There have been some video games with pretty good soundtracks. I don't know about anime though because I have never watched any.
tbh one of the biggest reasons i'm worried about getting into the music business is because i'm very very relaxed when it comes to what people like and don't like and what's popular and what's not
i never really have a problem with jumping on an artist's hype train later on
i didn't start listening to a lot of big-name artists until their newer stuff (for differing reasons)
there's this huge desire to be super trendy and have to look super eclectic like 'wow look at all this cool stuff i'm into look at the garbage you like i don't have time for that i'm busy listening to stuff you probably wouldn't like anyway'
and people hide behind that attitude by acting like they like all music when really they're just desperate to look trendy
basically just elitism and i'm not about that
if an artist has 1 fan or 1 million fans, whether the genre is some vague obscure shit or just pop
it shouldn't matter
music is a very personal and emotional experience for me, there's a lot of genres i like but there's a few i listen to more than most because they're the ones i connect with on a personal level
it's basically a problem i have with any art community as a whole and the reason why i don't think i'd mesh well with a lot of people in the industry
music is probably the thing i'm most passionate about in my life, it shouldn't be a competition
My total guilty pleasure in music right now though is Yung Thug. Like I know I should not like him because he is kind of a shitty person and stuff, but there is something about his voice, style, and music videos that is just different in a good way, and something that is really needed in rap right now is different.

Go get some used clothing then. Can be pretty cheap and allows you to have a more unique style because whatever you buy is probably not going to be readily available to everyone else.
