We actually had a discussion on why the word "queer" has been "stolen" by the LGBTQIA+ crowd and turned into a politically activated term used for good but why the word "faggot" has not been. Pretty interesting stuff.
i hate the word queer lmao
Liberal Arts classes in colleges are cool as shit and I still will say that the best decision I have made so far is choosing to be a CS major in the Liberal Arts school here instead of the EECS school (electrical engineering, computer science.)

It has a pretty shitty history as far as words go. A lot of people still do not like the word but it is usually easier to say it than saying whatever huge acronym is being used at any given second, I prefer LGBTQIA+ but I have seen people use like LGBTQGNGQ...+ that basically goes on for multiple lines.

tbh i just go for LGBT+ because LGBT has kinda transcended the acronym and is just a blanket term p much

Yea the class is just referred to as LGBT and just everything else is implied. The professor uses the word queer though so I have kind of started using it even though before I took the class I felt it was kind of an odd term too given its history.

main reason i don't like queer is because it's used to put people who have gone through a hugely varied amount of different experiences into one single group
it's also why i'm not crazy about making the acronym so huge
