I have not really mentioned where I go to school or anything, I just brought up the whole liberal arts thing because it's kind of the point of liberal arts colleges to get the students into deep thought about social issues and stuff. Not trying to sound pretentious or anything, if I wanted to do that I would be bragging about my college and shit. well I mean most universities for varying majors have you write papers and essays on a variety of deep and introspective topics
i'm an art major and i've written plenty of papers on controversial topics, so it's sort of a basic thing when you start going into higher education
it just seemed a little like you were trying to illuminate the whole liberal arts thing lol

Like I honestly try to downplay where I go to college because I know it's kind of pretentious for me to say it. Even when I'm in my college's city or the surrounding cities I try my best to make it seem like I do not go to college where I do because people will instantly think that I think I'm too good for them or whatever. Never mind the pseudo hostility I would get in a particular neighboring city if I showed up with a big "*UNIVERSITY* COMPUTER SCIENCE" sweater like some people do because of the astronomical price in living computer scientists, and other tech people, caused on the city.

If you have a chance try to take a class in it. It's totally accepting of non LGBT people so it's not like you need to be gay to take the classes or anything. Infact, a lot of people in my class, including me, are just taking it because it's a part of history most schools do not want to touch because its kind of a touchy subject.

there's this kid in my photo class who is like the MOST pretentious even tho it's like a basic entry-level photo class that's mostly taken by non art majors he's always pointin the stupidest shit out without even knowin what he's talking about and then when he submits his photos they are the baddest

Yea art majors here get a lot of flack too, I should know because I'm also an art major along with CS, especially from the large STEM population here. Probably the reason a lot of my posts have weird anti-STEM undertones is because of the sheer amount of shit I get them on occasion. I actively try to not be as pretentious as I actually am/can because I know people would just have more shit to lecture to me about.

All the first year art classes are a blast because you have all the "~artists~" who do it just because they think it makes them cool, yet they do not really have any artistic merit, even though they get in your face to tell you how they actually do.

My current favorite is a music cognition class I am in where all the students talk about how they are on the forefront of "art music" and then when the teacher plays like field recordings, noise, or avant garde music they all flip out about how it's not actually music.
I dunno much about LGBT stuff but I have two transgender friends and I try to support them as much as I can.

I'm not trying to preach that everyone should educate themselves on LGBT culture or anything. If you support people's life decisions then that is all that really matters.
