I wonder if there are any creepy pastas that don't rely on a glitched or wasn't supposed to be released version of the game.
Well, in a game like, say, Space Station 13 or Minecraft (generally anything that's a multiplayer sandbox), it could always just be a batshit insane player doing freaky shit without anyone ever seeing him. It kind of ups the fear a notch when what the story is about could theoretically happen.

It's supposed to be Solomon but on my computer i'm still seeing Bearded Brimley and on another computer it's just regular wilford brimley
Wrote this pretty quickly in response to Mister Sjeiks. May continue later. Anyone who's played SS13 will know this guy is the scariest thing about that game.
Amazing.

I just had a nightmare about an Oblivion mod named "Fuckshit" (or something along that line) that turned it into a horror game. I get that's what I get for playing Oblivion and reading creepypasta at 1 in the morning.
When you try caqs, a lot of text boxes open up that you have to close. the text are different each time. something similar perhaps. Whats creepy is you keep shifting over places and some lines are spoken (like something about a quest for a daedric prince.) Female goddess sort of voice but you cant see then you shift to another place. she continues to talk through the shifting and loading screens, then the shifting and talking stops and the screen goes blurry and normal quickly only to see your going up directly from the shrine where you can start the quest to get the dawnbreaker. i was stuck when the view shifted to normal. everything stopped and your high above skyrim. you have to restart at that point. I dont know how many people get to that.
Yes. That's what happens when you instantly start and finish every single quest stage in a game where finishing quest stages often causes shit to happen.
This is a true story, and no, not in true story as in a fake story to add to the scare, this is actually a glitch that can happen. Look it up. I played Halo 3 for kicks online. One of my favorite FPS games. We were both fucking around in Valhalla. For those who are unfortunate enough to never have played Halo 3, Valhalla is a map with 2 fortresses and mountains in the distance. As said we were just fucking around, testing tricks with the warthogs. My friend needed to eat dinner so he left his player idle. I was all alone in the game just driving around of boredom. Then, all of the sudden, there is a white MJOLNIR armored player, now running in front of the warthog I was driving, shooting around. Why this confused me was that this game was private and only me and my friend could join it. I looked on the gaming board, and it was only me and my friend on there. This third person was not present. If this was my friend fooling me it would say his name on the board. The white armored player also teleported around and began attacking me and stopping attacking me at random. The scariest part is when I didnt see it cause it teleported away, and I was turning around and there it was.
Sorry for the really late reply, but I heard that bungie employees can join private matches without it's players knowing just to fuck with people.
Sorry for the really late reply, but I heard that bungie employees can join private matches without it's players knowing just to fuck with people.
This could be possible. I've never experienced a halo "ghost" before, but I've heard that they tend to behave in a more bot-like fashion though. Like no animations always facing in one direction and always capable of landing a grenade stick on a target that's moving in a straight line at least. Could be a built in aimbot though.
I love this thread
Even if you don't turn that whole thing into a creepypasta, you could pretty easily make one with a 'there's a quest that isn't meant to be completed, when it gets completed by caqs, all hell breaks loose and the game fucks your face' approach
Something like the Auger story from a few pages back could work nicely. Actually, I might write this myself.
Emergency rescue: How would you guys like a place where you could read & rate creepypastas? Also, some pathetic content
Posted on July 25th, 2011 by Zukdeen. I was just leaving Undella Town when I heard about it on the bulletin boards. “Pokémon Outbreak at Route 1!” I was excited, to say the least, and rushed as fast as I could to get to Route 1. I was too excited to read the full bulletin. When I got to Route 1 what I saw was horrifying. The Pokémon where killing Trainers. I saw smoke rising from Nuvema Town. I didn’t understand, I didn’t understand why Pokémon where killing Trainers. Maybe they had had enough of being forced to battle each other… Or maybe it was something else. I noticed that none of those Pokémon were native to Unova. They were all from Johto, Kanto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and the Orange Islands. I just stood there, observing the rising chaos. Then it attacked me. I woke up at a Pokémon Centre. It was empty, there was blood on the walls, dead bodies everywhere. I know what had happened here. It was happening everywhere. I watched the tv there. Apparently this was a WorldWide thing. I can faintly recall what the reporter said. “A mass outbreak of ‘Mad Pokémon’ is happening all over the world, millions are dead and many more are injured… In other news, scientists can now confirm the PokéRus can kill Pokémon.”
I found this quite funny.
One day I was playing Oblivion for god knows what reason when all of a sudden I heard a weird noise - the sound of 100 people dying at one time. I looked around and saw a bunch of dead people laying around. I used a detect life spell and saw nothing. I checked every city, and there were only dead bodies, blood everywhere. That is, until I entered the arena district in the Imperial City. There he was...THE ADORING FAN

god I hated that show with a passion
Today, i finished reading I have no mouth, and i must scream. To be honest i didn't really react so much when [sp] the engineer killed his whole team. [/sp] But when he [sp] met the doctor, and when he was doing this kinda roleplay with socks on his hands. [/sp] That had me in tears. I was literally crying after reading that pasta Also "Respawn of the dead" was a really good read

http://blogcake.x10.mx/creepydb/index.php Because of the lack of a good search feature, catagories, and pagination, it's not really good for browsing, but I'll fix that later.
http://wwwwwwwww.jodi.org/betalab/goodtimes/terms/index.html Creepypasta. NOW.
http://wwwwwwwww.jodi.org/betalab/goodtimes/terms/index.html Creepypasta. NOW.
I'm scared.
What happens?
Regarding the Halo "Ghost" bug, its a fairly common thing that happens due to lag. Nothing supernatural or hyper realistic about it.
Something like the Auger story from a few pages back could work nicely. Actually, I might write this myself.
Just a heads-up, I don't actually have Skyrim yet so I'm gonna hold off on writing this 'till I do. Then maybe it won't seem like total bullshit. Does CAQS ever dump you back in-game?
In previous thread someone posted that he was exploring an empty map (Editor) and his teammate said: "UNKNOWN ENEMY 12 O'CLOCK"
Come to think of it, I had that happen to me too. I was driving an APC in the armory, then suddenly one of my crew members said that. Nothing really happened, just he said that and that was it.
http://wwwwwwwww.jodi.org/betalab/goodtimes/terms/index.html Creepypasta. NOW.
i spam clicked accept until the third box, im kind of scared.
It's a shitty unfinished X-COM ripoff
If you guys liked that TF2 pasta, I highly recommend the original "I have no mouth and I must scream" by Harlan Ellison. There was also a video game made based on it.

It shows of AM's torturing better but therefore provides a greater sense of accomplishment when you finally beat him (with the good ending, of course).
I'm scared.
What happens? As armageddonscr said
Isn't Fallout 3's virtual reality quest based on IHNMBIMS?
Isn't Fallout 3's virtual reality quest based on IHNMBIMS?
It's certainly very similar, though it has a much happier ending, assuming you don't feel bad for Braun. Which, in a way, gives a much sadder ending than the story, considering he's now utterly trapped without even an insane machine for company.
